Safeguarding Responsibilities
Safeguarding Is Everyones Responsibility
Schools have a statutory duty to protect children in their care. They must have:
- A current safeguarding policy reflecting current legislation and guidance.
- Child protection procedures
- A Designated Safeguarding Lead for child protection (DSL) and is a member of the senior management team.
- A safeguarding Governor
- Safe recruitment processes
The school environment must be a safe place for children, and schools must ensure that adults who work in the school, including volunteers, don't pose a risk to children.
Staff receive training in how to identify and respond to child protection concerns.
Safeguarding is "Everyones Responsibility"
If Parents / Carers have concers they can contact school to discuss issues with the Safeguarding team or see links below.
