We use Schoolgrid to manage school meal payments and orders.

Free School Meals

From September 2026, all children living in households receiving Universal Credit are entitled to free school meals, regardless of household earnings. Families must still make a claim so that eligibility can be confirmed by the school or local authority.

Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are also entitled to a free school meal through the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme. Even if your child already receives an infant free school meal, we encourage eligible families to make a benefits-based free school meal claim, as this may help the school access additional funding to support your child.

If you think your child may be eligible, please contact the school office or apply through St Helens Council. Families with no recourse to public funds may also be eligible in certain circumstances.

Child Protection and Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Sutton Manor Community Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. We have a trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads who provide support, advice and guidance to staff and respond to safeguarding concerns.


All staff have a responsibility to recognise and respond to concerns about a child’s safety or welfare. Where there is a safeguarding concern, the school will take appropriate action in accordance with its safeguarding procedures and statutory guidance. This may include sharing information with other agencies where this is necessary to protect a child and promote their welfare.


The school maintains the statutory safeguarding and recruitment checks required for staff and other relevant adults working in the school. These checks are recorded on the school’s Single Central Record.
