HOMEWORK

The most important homework that year 1 children can do is to read.

Read anything and everything; books, poems, nursery rhymes, comics, magazines, the packaging for food, recipes, timetables, the instructions for a game, signs, maps, brochures, catalogues. The list is endless!

Reading is the skill that can take you anywhere, there is a reason that people say they can be 'lost in a book!'

We will also give the children some words to learn to spell, as well as some short maths tasks.

Spelling and/or maths homework will be given out each Friday and should be returned the following Friday.
