At Sutton Manor Community Primary School, we govern without committees. Our full board meets six times a year as a minimum. There are committees in the terms of reference for pay, complaints and disciplinary actions that meet as and when required.

Ernie has been a Governor at the school since June 2010 subsequently being unanimously elected as Chairman in September 2016 and again in 2020.

 

He had a long career as an NHS HR Director, was co-founder and originating Trustee of the State of Mind Sport Charity in addition he was co-founder and CEO of League 13 (Super League Players’ Association). He was a member of the Executive Board of the Professional Players’ Federation. He is an Accredited UKAD Anti-Doping Advisor. As a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) he has been formally recognised by his professional body for providing exceptional services to human resource and people development. Over the last decade he has devoted all his time to sustained voluntary service, to effect significant benefit to others using his knowledge, skills and expertise as a school governor and Chair, to improve the life chances of children in our school.
