Forest School

Welcome to the Sutton Manor Forest School Page!

Forest School is an outdoor learning experience, where children of all ages are able to explore their natural environment in a safe and well managed way. The site is visited by a group once a week for half day sessions over at least six consecutive weeks, allowing the children the opportunity to observe changes that may occur over this time, as well as enabling them to become fully familiar with the setting.

Activities include tree identification, game playing, cooking on camp fires, using tools to make forest crafts and den building to name but a few. Children are encouraged to learn at their own pace and activities are planned in response to the children's interests.

Forest School sessions are a fantastic way to develop inter-personal skills and team building. Children actively engage in problem solving, whilst boosting their confidence and self esteem and acquiring new practical skills.

The photographs below show some of the many activities that have been enjoyed so far!
