A huge, warm welcome to Year 2's 2022/2023 class page. It is great to have the children back in school and enjoying their new class and settling into school routines.
Uniform Policy
Children must wear their full school uniform Monday-Friday except on PE days listed below.
As of September 2020, our uniform policy was ammended to allow children with pierced ears to wear one set of simple stud earrings if they so wish. We would still strongly recommend that children remove their earrings before coming to school, however if they are unable to do so you must sign a disclaimer.
By signing a disclaimer, you are taking full responsibility for your child’s earrings and all health and safety risks associated with wearing them to school, which includes playtimes and PE lessons. Children may tape the back of their earrings for PE lessons to lessen the risk of injury, but school and staff cannot do this for them. Please note that this disclaimer does not apply to swimming.
This amendment ONLY applies to earrings, other jewellery will not be permitted, including any additional piercings.
Homework
Year 2's homework is sent out on a Monday and is due to be returned on a Friday. Children will have a homework pack containing; a reading book, reading record and a homework book with up to 3 pieces of homework per week. The children are greatly encouraged to read their allocated book at least three times each week at home. This can be their school reading book or any other text that they choose. Please sign their reading record if you have read with your child and make any appropriate comments.
PE
Year 2's PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please send your child to school in their PE kit, they should not bring it in a bag. Your child should wear; a plain white top, plain black shorts/joggers/leggings, school pumps or dark coloured trainers and a school jumper/cardigan or hoody. Children should not arrive to school with patterned clothing including branded sports wear as they may be asked to change in to spare school PE kits.
Please ensure your child has a clearly labelled water bottle in school each day, especially PE days.
