Hi everybody,
Welcome to year 6! We have an exciting term ahead of us. In English we are studying two books: The Man Who Walked Between the Two Towers by Mordicai Gerstein and Clockwork by Philip Pullman. Both Books will be explored in detail in terms of sequencing, characterisation and events. They will form the basis for our writing.
In Geography we are focussing on how land use changed in the UK during and after the Industrial Revolution.
In Science we are learning about Electricity; where it comes from and how it reaches our homes and industires We will be carrying out experiments on how circuits work and exploring the work of Scienctist Michael Faraday.
In DT we are linking in our science work on circuits to make a Steady Hand Game.
- Homework will be sent home every Tuesday and needs to be returned on or before Friday when we will go through it in class.
- PE kits should be worn on FRIDAYS for this half term.
- Reading books. As always, we expect the children to read independently at home as often as possible. Children may also have their own books at home that they wish to read. We will continue to read every day in class and monitor the children's abilities and progress carefully.
- Children have a log in for Reading Plus that they can use access at home.
We thank you for your support in advance.
