Silver Artsmark Award

As many of your know, last year we received the Silver Artsmark Award.  It was a great achievement and also a whole school achievement and I am grateful to everyone, especially Mrs Gladman and the Governors, for making this possible.

This year, we are planning to achieve the Gold Artsmark.  Already this year KS2 have had a visit from Altru, a wonderful drama group based in Liverpool and they worked with each class and then at the end of the week, KS2 produced a play about the history of St Helens during WWII.  After the play, Altru provided a family workshop and, for the families that attend, it was very enjoyable.  Please do look at the photographs.

For KS1, David Bixter visited Year 1 and Year 2 and mixed a Music project with materials to produce an interesting result with sound.  He also gave a family workshop which was really well supported and thank you to all who attended.

This term, we hope to introduce our Arts Ambassadors and will begin to think about how we can continue to promote the arts within our curriculum.
