Hi everybody,

This half term is an exciting one. We will be working hard in preparing for our Standard Assessment Tests. Children will be assessed in Reading, Maths and Spelling and Grammar.  Sats begin on Monday 9th May. We are also looking forward to our trip to Kingswood Adventure in Colomendy, which is takes plave between Wednesday 25th May to Friday 27th May.

In English and to help inspire our writing, as well as be finishing 'Oranges in No Man's Land' by Elizabeth Laird, which we started last half term, we will be reading Skellig by David Almond.

We will be learning about Living Things and their Habitats in Science and the children will be investigating and conducting experiments to help develop their knowlege and understanding. We will then move on to learning about Evolution and the work of Charles Darwin.

In Geography we are focussing on Climate Change with a particluar focus on the North and South Poles. In Religious Education we are learning about Buddhism.

There will also be High School Transition work to complete as the term progresses.

  • Homework will be sent home every Tuesday and needs to be returned on or before Friday when we will go through it in class.
  • PE kits should be worn on MONDAY and FRIDAYS for this half term.
  • Reading books. As always, we expect the children to read independently at home as often as possible.  Children may also have their own books at home that they wish to read. We will continue to read every day in class and monitor the children's abilities and progress carefully.
  • Children have  a log in for Reading Plus that they can use access at home.

We thank you for your support in advance.
