Welcome to our Year 5 Class Page!
We have had a fantastic start to our Year 5 year but sadly as you know, we cannot be together in class at the minute. Below, I have attached links to lots of useful websites that the children can use during their time at home to help with home learning.
There are home learning packs to collect at the school office from Wednesday 6th January. Work will also be uploaded on Microsoft Teams daily for the children to complete. If you have any issues logging on to Microsoft Teams or you are not sure of the children's usernames and passwords - please ring the school office or email me directly.
I look forward to seeing all the fanatic work on Microsoft Teams and hopefully we can be back in class together very soon!

Year 5 Rules and Routines
Homework - Homework will now go home with the children on a Tuesday and will need to be brought back into school on a Friday.
Reading Books - Children will be able to take reading books home as we encourage as much home reading as possible. As we are trying to limit the amount of objects that are brought into school daily, these reading books will only come back into school when the children have finished them. They will then choose a new book from our class library to take home.
P.E - Children need to come into school in their winter P.E kit on P.E days. Winter kits should be plain black joggers or leggings, a white t-shirt and school jumper/cardigan.
Our P.E lessons in year 5 currently take place on a Wednesday and a Friday.
Trips
In year 5 we have previously enjoyed trips throughout the year. We have not got any trips planned as yet but we are hopeful that this will change in the near furture. We have enjoyed trips to Pizza express to make pizzas for DT, Speak Hall when studying monarchs throughout history and Llandudno in the summer term for our Georgraphy topic of coastlines. These trips continue to cost £15.
Earrings
As of Monday 14th September we are amending our uniform policy to allow children with pierced ears to wear one set of simple stud earrings if they so wish. We would still strongly recommend that children remove their earrings before coming to school, however if they are unable to do so you must sign a disclaimer.
By signing a disclaimer you are taking full responsibility for your child’s earrings and all health and safety risks associated with wearing them to school, which includes playtimes and PE lessons. Children may tape the back of their earrings for PE lessons to lessen the risk of injury, but school and staff cannot do this for them.
Please note that this disclaimer does not apply to swimming.
This amendment ONLY applies to earrings, other jewellery will not be permitted, including any additional earrings.
