Day care and Pre-Nursery: Blog items

Following yesterday's government announcement that all children will return to school from Monday 8th March, we are now preparing to welcome back all classes and can't wait to see everyone back again. Many of the restictions that were in place previously will continue to be in place, such as children working in 'bubbles', restricting movement around school and restricting mixing between bubbles, staggered drop off and collection arangements and additional control measures for risk will also be put into place. We will work closely with Public Health to review and refresh our control systems to reduce the risk of transmission in our school and our community. We will still have social distancing measures in place and face coverings will need to be worn at the school gates. There is currently no plan for school staff to be vaccinated any sooner, so we will still be at risk and I hope that you understand the need to protect our staff as well as the community and the children.
The government have said that school attendance will be mandatory from the 8th March and that they will expect all children to return. We will also be looking at how to safely resume breakfast provision, although this may be from 15th March, however I will confirm this over the next week.
I will set out the return to school plans over the next couple of weeks, as well as the risk assessments and any additional information that will help your children to return to school safely and happily and will write to you with further updates.
With best wishes,
Mrs Gladman
